Today plc247.com continues to guide you to control Siemens Sinamics V20 inverter with Proface GP4402WW (both devices have built-in RS485 port)
HMI Proface & Sinamics V20 “Wiring Diagram”
Siemens Sinamics V20 “Modbus RTU” Setting
In order for the inverter to be controlled by Modbus RTU, we need to set the following communication parameters
Registers Control Address
Note: GP4402WW HMI Address = “400001 (dec) + Device Address”
>>> Motor Control Address = 400001 + 99 = 400100
- Set Word 400100 = 1151 >>> Forward Run
= 3199 >>> Reverse Run
= 1150 >>> Stop
= 1278 >>> Reset
>>> Frequency Setting Address = 400001 + 100 = 400101
- Reference Setting = [0 to 16384] = [0 to 100%]
Registers Monitoring Address
>>> Motor Status Address = 400001 + 109 = 400110
Proface HMI Modbus Configuration
We need to set the communication parameters of the HMI Proface the same as those set in the Sinamics V20 VFD
