HMI Weintek “Modbus RTU” Siemens Sinamics V20 Tutorial

Today plc247.com will use HMI Weintek MT8071iE to control Siemens Sinamics V20 inverter via Modbus RTU (using built-in RS485 port in both HMI and VFD)

Siemens V20 Modbus RTU Configuration

In addition to the basic parameters installed according to the motor (frequency, current, voltage…) we need to set the communication parameters as follows

Sinamics V20 Registers Address for Control

Note: Weintek MT8071iE Modbus Address
= “VFD Address (dec) +1”

>>> Motor Control Address = 99 + 1 = 100

+ Set Word 100 = 1151 >>> Forward Run
= 3199 >>> Reverse Run

+ Set Word 100 = 1150 >>> Stop

+ Set Word 100 = 1278 >>> VFD Reset

>>> Frequency Reference Address = 100 + 1 = 101
