Samkoon HMI “Modbus RTU” Hitachi NE-S1 Tutorial

The Hitachi NE-S1 inverter is an inverter from Japan that has been on the market for a long time and it supports all the basic connection types required of the inverter including Modbus-RTU communication.

Today will guide you to use Samkoon SK-070HS HMI to control Hitachi NE-S1 inverter via Modbus-RTU protocol.

Below is the RS485 communication wiring diagram between the Samkoon HMI and the Hitachi NES1 inverter.

Hitachi NE-S1 Modbus Parameters Setting

Below are the communication parameters and settings in the Project of Hitachi NES1 inverter:

+ “Modbus-RTU” select by SW5
Hitachi NE-S1 Modbus Registers Address

+ Frequency Setting Address = 1 (dec – Register)

+ VFD Start/Stop Address = 0 (dec – Coil)

+ VFD Direction Address = 1 (dec – Coil)

+ VFD Error Reset Address = 3 (dec – Coil)

+ VFD “Ready” Status Address = 16 (dec – Coil)
VFD “Running” Status Address = 18 (dec – Coil)
VFD “Alarm” Status Address = 23 (dec – Coil)

+ Output Frequency Address = 4097 (dec – Register)
Output Current Address = 4098 (dec – Register)
Output Voltage Address = 4112 (dec – Register)
