The PowerFlex 525 inverter, with a power range of 0.4-22kW, is suitable for many different applications. The control module and the dynamics module are separable, allowing flexibility in project implementation.

Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 525 has built-in 1 Ethernet/IP port and 1 DSI (Serial) port, today will guide you to use Kinco HMI to control it via Modbus-RTU protocol.

We need to set the following communication parameters to make PowerFlex 525 drive controllable by Modbus RTU protocol:

>>> VFD Control Address = 8192 (dec)

  • Set Word 8192 = 18 (dec) >>> Run Forward
  • Set Word 8192 = 34 (dec) >>> Run Reverse
  • Set Word 8192 = 1 (dec) >>> Stop
    = 8 (dec) >>> VFD Fault Reset

>>> Frequency Setting Address = 8193(dec)

>>> VFD Status Address = 8448 (dec)

+ Frequency Output Address = 8451 (dec)
+ Current Output Address = 8452 (dec)
+ Volatge Output Address = 8454 (dec)
