Mitsubishi FX5U “Servo Control” Yaskawa Sigma 7 Tutorial

PLC FX5U is a new type of small size PLC from Mitsubishi. It is integrated with many high level functions such as Analog In/Out, RS422/485, Ethernet… and it also supports up to 4-axis control pulse output.

Today will guide you to use PLC FX5U to control Yaskawa Sigma 7 Series (similar Sigma V) motors in the simplest and easiest way to understand.

+ Use resistor R = 2K2Ω to reduce voltage: 24 VDC to 5 VDC

I/O Address Table
  • Input
    + X0: Origin Sensor
    + X1: CW Limit Sensor
    + X2: CCW Limit Sensor
  • Output
    + Y0: Pulse Output
    + Y4: Direction Output
    + Y5: Servo ON/OFF

Yaskawa Sigma 7 Parameters Configuration

Note: You can use Sigma Win software (download below the article) or install it with the button on the driver

For Driver Yaskawa Sigma 7 we need to configure the following basic parameters

+ Pn200.0: Reference Pulse Form uses 1 pulse control mode (Pulse + Direction)
>>> Select “0: Sign + Pulse, positive logic”

+ Pn200.3: Filter Selection
>>> Select “1: Uses reference input filter for open collector signal (to 200kpps)”

+ Pn20E + Pn210 + Pn212
“Three parameter is used to set the number of pulses for 1 revolution of the motor”

In this Project use “Ball screw leed = 5mm” & “Control 1PLS = 10um”
>>> Pn20E = 16,777,216
Pn210 = 500
