Hello friends!
Servo Yaskawa is one of the widely used Servo Motors in the world “Yaskawa Sigma 7” is a popular model of the company with very good quality and durability.
Today plc247.com would like to write a tutorial for you to use PLC Keyence KV3000, KV5000, KV5500 to control Yaskawa Sigma 7 motor by generating pulses
PLC Keyence & Yaskawa Servo “Connection Diagram”
Use a 2k2Ω resistor if you connect pins 7, 11 of Yaskawa Sigma7 to +24VDC. Or directly connect pins 7, 11 to pin 20 of the PLC without using resistors
Yaskawa Sigma 7 Parameters Setting
To be able to control Yaskawa Sigma 7 by pulse generator method from PLC, we need to set the basic parameters as below
- Pn200.0: Reference Pulse Form
plc247.com uses 1 pulse control mode (Pulse + Direction)
>>> Select “0: Sign + Pulse, positive logic”
- Pn200.3: Filter Selection
>>> Select “1: Uses reference input filter for open collector signal (to 200kpps)”
- Pn20E + Pn210 + Pn212
Three parameter is used to set the number of pulses for 1 revolution of the motor
plc247.com selects the control parameter as “1PLS = 10um”, Ball screw leed = 5mm
>>> Pn20E: 16,777,216 / Pn210: 500
- Pn000.1: Control Method Selection
PLC Keyence Pulse Train Output Setting
PLC Keyence KV 3000, KV5000, KV 5500 have built-in 2 pulse generator ports, in this project using X-axis . You can install it like the picture below
+ Note: Select Position No.1 as ABS (Absolute) Control type
PLC Keyence Pulse Output Example
+ Servo ON/OFF Control
+ Emergency Stop Pulse Output
+ Zero Return Process
+ Axis Jog Process
+ Position Control Command
