Siemens S7-200 PLC is one of the most popular PLC in the world, you can find it anywhere in the world. But the cost to have one cable connected to the S7-200 is very expensive, if you are a student or an individual, it will be expensive to get the S7-200 programming cable.
So today plc247.com would like to share with you how to make your own S7-200 PLC programming cable
Preparation
1. Jack port COM-DB9 Male (Connect to the PLC)
2. Jack port COM-DB9 Female (Connect to a computer)
3. RESISTOR
You need to prepare resistors 5K-Ohm, 3K-Ohm and 680 Ohm
Proceed to make the cable
You solder the cable according to the following diagram, pay attention to the cable length less than 2m to stabilize the connection
This cable plc247.com did and it worked with S7-200. Note that you can only use it to connect directly to the COM port on your PC, you cannot use the USB-RS232 converter cable.
Thanks and best regards!
