Inovance inverter MD200 series is a versatile mini inverter series, widely applied in the market. The outstanding advantage of MD200 is good quality, durable, stable operation, competitive price in the market. This is also the product that is preferred by most customers because it ensures quality criteria and brings high economic efficiency.

Although it is a cheap product, Inovance inverter supports Modbus-RTU communication protocol to make it easy to control and monitor remotely, today will use Mitsubishi QJ71C24N to control it.

Inovance MD200 has a built-in RS485 communication port and below is the connection diagram between Mitsubishi QJ71C24N and Inovance MD200 inverter

Inovance MD200 “Modbus RTU” Parameters Setting

To be able to control and monitor the Inovance MD200 inverter using the Modbus-RTU protocol, we need to set the following communication parameters for the inverter:

Inovance MD200 Registers Address

>>> VFD Control Address = 2000 (hex)

  • Set Word 2000 = 1 >>> Forward Run
  • Set Word 2000 = 2 >>> Reverse Run
  • Set Word 2000 = 6 >>> Stop

>>> Set Frequency Address = 1000 (hex)
+ Frequency Reference = (0 to 10000 dec) ~ (0 to VFD Max Frequency)

  • Output Frequency Address = 1001 (hex)
  • DC-BUS Voltage Address = 1002 (hex)
  • Output Voltage Address = 1003 (hex)
  • Output Current Address = 1004 (hex)

Mitsubishi QJ71C24N “Modbus RTU” Configuration

To configure the parameters for the QJ71C24N Module, follow these steps:

+ Step 1: Create New Project

+ Step 2: In/Out Configuration

+ Step 3: QJ71C24N “RS485 Port.” Parameters Setting

+ Step 4: Sent Parameters to Module

+ Step 5: “Echoback” Disable

QJ71C24N & Inovance-MD200 Modbus Configuration

+ “Serial Communication Module” Setting

+ Add Protocol, Write to Module, Read from Module

Protocols Configuration

>>> Protocol No.1: “Func 06 / Write Single Registers”

  • Slave Address = “D100”
  • Register Adress = “D101”
  • Register Value = “D110”
  • “Comm. Error” = “D300

>>> Protocol No.2: “Func 03 / Read Holding Registers”

  • Slave Address = “D200”
  • Starting Address = “D201”
  • Quantity of Registers = “D202”
  • Registers Value Response = “D210” (From D210…D335 depending on the number of Registers (D202) to read)
  • “Comm. Error” = “D300”
