Delta HMI “Modbus RTU” Autonics TK4S Tutorial

Hello everyone, in the previous post guided you to use Delta HMI to control and monitor Omron E5CC Temperature Controller through Modbus-RTU communication, today I will guide you to connect the same to Autonics TK4S.

You need to use Model TK4S with RS485 port support (In this project uses Autonics TK4S-T4SN and HMI Delta DOP-107EV, other Delta HMIs with RS485 port have the same control).

Note: Use a 120Ω Terminal Resistor if the communication distance is long.

Autonics TK4S Modbus Parameters Setting

– Below is a table of communication parameters that need to be set up for Autonics TK4S when using Modbus RTU

TK4S Controller >>> Press “Mode” >>> Choose “PAr.4”
  • AdrS = 1 (Modbus Slave)
  • bPS = 9.6 (9600bps)
  • Prty = EvEn (Parity check)
  • StP = 1 (Stop bit)
  • rSy.t = 20 (Response time)
Autonics TK4S Modbus Registers Address

>>> TK4S Set Temperature Address = 0 (Hex) / Funtion Code = “06”

>>> TK4S Temperature Monitoring = 3E8 (Hex) / Funtion Code = “04”

Delta HMI Modbus-RTU Configuration

We need to set the communication parameters of Delta DOP-107EV to be the same as those of Autonics TK4S before they can connection.
