Weintek MT8071iE “Modbus RTU” INVT Goodrive 20 VFD

Weintek’s HMI monitor is one of the most commonly used monitors in the world, low cost, good quality and full of connections. Today I will guide you to use Weintek HMI to control INVT Goodrive 20 inverter.

The model I use is MT8071iE which supports RS485 communication in both COM2 and COM3, you can use any Weintek monitor with RS485 port to do the same.

INVT Goodrive 20 Modbus-RTU Setting

In order for the inverter to be controlled by Modbus-RTU RS485, we need to configure as follows:

  • P00.01 = 2 (Control motor via RS485)
  • P00.06 = 8 (Control Frequency via RS485)
  • P00.09 = 0 (Choose A Frequency)
  • P14.00 = 1 ( Slave Address)
  • P14.01 = 3 (baudrate 9600bps)
  • P14.02 = 1 (RTU 8/1/E)
  • P14.03 = 5
  • P14.04 =2.0

Note: Weintek MT8071iE Modbus Address

= “VFD Address (dec) +1”

>>> Control Motor Address = 2000(hex) = 8192(dec) + 1 = 8193

+ Set Word 8193 = 1 >>> Run Forward
= 2 >>> Run Reverse
= 5 >>> Stop

>>> Setting Frequency Address = 2001(hex) = 8193(dec) + 1 = 8194

Register for Monitoring
  • Operation frequency address = 3000(hex) = 12288(dec) + 1 = 12289 (dec)
  • Setting frequency address= 12290 (dec)
  • Bus voltage address = 12291 (dec)
  • Output voltage address = 12292 (dec)
  • Output current = 12293 (dec)
