PLC Keyence “Servo Control” Panasonic Minas A6 Tutorial

Although Keyence PLC has been on the market for not as long as other PLCs such as Mitsubishi, Omron, it is increasingly occupying a high rate of use in machinery. High quality and continuous improvement make PLC Keyence more and more used.

Today plc247.com will guide you to control Panasonic Minas A6 Servo Motor with PLC Keyence KV-5500 (KV-5000, K-3000), these PLCs all have built-in 2 pulse generator axes.

PLC Keyence & Panasonic A6 “Wiring Diagram”

Below is the simplest diagram for the Keyence KV5500 PLC to control Panasonic Minas-A6 Servo, after successful control, you can use other function pins.

Panasonic Minas-A6 Parameters Setting

In order for the Panasonic A6 Servo Drive to receive pulse signals from the PLC, we need to install at least the following basic parameters:

+ Pr0.00: Rotational direction selection

+ Pr0.01: Control mode selection

+ Pr0.05: Command pulse inPut selection

+ Pr0.06 & Pr0.07: Pulse input mode & direction selection

+ Pr0.08: Pulses/Revolution Setting

PLC Keyence “Pulse Train Output” Configuration

PLC Keyence KV-3000, KV-5000, KV-5500 have built-in 2 high-speed pulse generators, X-Axis and Y-Axis. In this project plc247.com uses X-Axis and configures it as shown below (you can change these parameters to suit your project)

+ Note: Select Position No.1 as “ABS-Absolute” Control mode
