Hello everyone, in previous posts plc247.com guided you to use the Mitsubishi GT2505-VTBD HMI to control a number of different controllers and inverters through Modbus RTU (RS485) protocol.
Today plc247.com will continue to guide you to use it to control a type of inverter from Korea “LS iG5A Inverter” This is an inverter that also has a built-in RS485 port that supports control and monitoring by Modbus RTU.
Mitsubishi GT2505-VTBD & LS iG5A “Wiring Diagram”
+ Below is the communication connection diagram between GT2505-VTBD and LS iG5A . inverter
+ If the communication distance between HMI and VFD is far, we need to use an additional 120Ω Terminal Resistor
LS iG5A “Modbus RTU” Parameters Setting
We need to set the following communication parameters so that the LS iG5A inverter can be controlled by Modbus-RTU protocol.
plc247.com recommends the following installation for stable communication:
- Drv = 3
- Frq = 7
- I59 = 0 (Choose Modbus-RTU)
- I60 = 1 (Slave No.1)
- I61 = 3 (baudrate 9600bps)
- I62 = 0
- I65 = 2 (Even/1bit)
LS iG5A “Modbus RTU” Registers Address
+ Mitsubishi GOT2000 HMI Modbus RTU Address =
“VFD Address (Dec) + 400001“
+ LS iG5A Inverter Modbus RTU Address = “VFD Address – 1”

“LS iG5A VFD Address + 400000”
+ Frequency Reference Address = 5 + 400000 = 400005 (dec)
+ VFD Control Address = 6 + 400000 = 400006 (dec)
- Set Word 400006 (dec) = 2 >>> Run Forward
- Set Word 400006 (dec) = 4 >>> Run Reverse
- Set Word 400006 (dec) = 0 >>> Stop
+ Current Output Address = 9 + 400000 = 400009 (dec)
+ Frequency Output Address = A (hex) = 10 (dec) + 400000 = 400010 (dec)
+ Voltage Output Address = B (hex) = 11 (dec) + 400000 = 400011 (dec)
Mitsubishi GT2505-VTBD Modbus Configuration
You need to set the Modbus-RTU communication parameters of the HMI Mitsubishi GT2505-VTBD identical to those of the LS iG5A inverter.
