PLC Keyence “Modbus RTU” Inovance MD200 Tutorial

Inovance inverter is a versatile mini inverter series, widely applied in the market. The outstanding advantage of this line is good quality, durable and stable operation. Today plc247.com will use the Keyence PLC in combination with the KV-L21V Module to control the Inovance MD200 inverter through the Modbus RTU communication protocol.

We need to choose the Inovance MD200 inverter model that supports RS485 port and connect according to the following diagram:

Below are the communication parameters to be installed for the Inovance MD200 inverter:

Inovance MD200 Modbus Registers Address

+ Motor Control Address = 2000 (hex)

  • Set Word 2000 = 1 >>> Forward Run
  • Set Word 2000 = 2 >>> Reverse Run
  • Set Word 2000 = 6 >>> Stop

+ Frequency Setting Address = 1000 (hex)
>>> Frequency Reference = (0 to 10000 dec) ~ (0 to VFD Max Frequency Setting)

  • Output Frequency Address = 1001 (hex)
  • DC-BUS Voltage Address = 1002 (hex)
  • Output Voltage Address = 1003 (hex)
  • Output Current Address = 1004 (hex)

Keyence KV-L21V “Modbus RTU” Parameters Setting

We need to set the Modbus communication parameters for the Keyence KV-L21V Module the same as those installed for the MD200 inverter.
