INVT Goodrive 20 inverter is a cheap but extremely good quality inverter, so it is widely used in small machines and basic applications. It also supports the common control methods of the inverter such as keypad control, terminal control, analog control, control via Modbus RTU (RS485).
Today plc247.com will guide you to use PLC Inovance H3U-3232MT to control INVT GD20 inverter by Modbus RTU communication through RS485 port which both are integrated.

INVT Goodrive 20 “Modbus RTU” Parameters Setting
Here are the settings for INVT G20 communication parameters so that we can control it with Modbus RTU.
- P00.01 = 2 (Frequency Reference via RS485)
- P00.06 = 8 (Motor Control via RS485)
- P00.09 = 0 (A Frequency Selection)
- P14.00 = 1 (Slave Address = 1)
- P14.01 = 3 (9600bps)
- P14.02 = 1 (Modbus-RTU 8bit/Even/stop bit = 1)
- P14.03 = 5
- P14.04 = 0.0

>>> Motor Control Address = 2000 (Hexa)
- Set Word 2000 = 1 >>> Forward Run
= 2 >>> Reverse Run
= 5 >>> Stop
>>> Set Frequency Address = 2001 (Hexa)
PLC Inovance “Modbus RTU” Configuration
We need to configure the communication parameters for the COM.1 port (RS485 Port.) the same as those installed for the INVT GD20 inverter
