In the previous post, plc247.com wrote a tutorial on how to use PLC FX5U to connect and control temperature controllers of Omron E5CC and Autonics TK4S.
Today plc247.com will guide you to use Mitsubishi FX5U PLC to control Siemens Sinamics V20 inverter (both have built-in RS485 communication port)

Note: Use a 120Ω terminal resistor if the communication distance is far
Siemens Sinamics V20 Modbus-RTU Setting
To be able to control Siemens Sinamics V20 with Modbus RTU, we need to install at least the following communication parameters:
Siemens V20 Registers Address
>>> VFD Control Address = 99 (dec)
+ Set Word 40100 = 1151 >>> Forward Run
= 3199 >>> Reverse Run
= 1150 >>> Stop
+ Set Word 40100 = 1278 >>> VFD Reset
>>> VFD Frequency Reference Address = 100 (dec)
+ Speed Reference = 0 to 16384(dec) ~ (0 to 100%)
- Frequency Output Address = 23 (dec)
- Speed Output Address = 24
- Current Output Address = 25
Mitsubishi FX5U Modbus-RTU Configuration
It is necessary to configure the same communication parameters as those set in Siemens Sinamics V20
