HMI Proface “Modbus RTU” Allen Bradley PowerFlex 525

Today plc247.com will guide you to control PowerFlex 525 Inverter through Modbus RTU with HMI Proface GP4402WW (any HMI Proface with RS485 port will work)

PowerFlex 525 Modbus RTU Configuration

In order for PowerFle 525 VFD to be controlled by Modbus RTU, in addition to the basic parameters (Frequency, current, voltage,…) we need to set the communication parameters as follows

Registers Address Table
Note: GP4402WW HMI Address = “400001 (dec) + Device Address”

+ Motor Control Address = 400001 + 8192 = 408193

  • Set Word 408193 = 8 : Reset VFD
    = 18 : Forward Run
    = 34 : Reverse Run
    = 1 : Stop

+ Frequency Reference Address = 400001 + 8193 = 408194

+ Output Frequency Address = 400001 + 8451 = 408452
+ Output Current Address = 400001 + 8452 = 408453
+ Output Voltage Address = 400001 + 8454 = 408455
