Powerflex 525 inverter is a series in Rockwell’s 520 inverter series, this is the new generation of Component inverters from Allen-Bradley. The Powerflex 520 inverter series was born to meet Rockwell’s Logix platform in common applications requiring inverters.
Powerflex 525 has a built-in Ethernet/IP port and DSI that supports RS485 so it can be controlled and monitored using Modbus RTU protocol. Today plc247.com will guide you to use the Kinco MT4414TE HMI to control it through this protocol.

PowerFlex-525 Modbus Parameters Setting
We need to set the following communication parameters for PowerFlex 525 to make it controllable by “Modbus RTU” Communication:

Note: HMI Kinco Holding Registers Address =
“VFD Address (Dec) + 1“
+ VFD Control Address = 8192 (dec) + 1 = 8193 (dec)
- Set Word 8193 = 18 (dec) >>> Run Forward
- Set Word 8193 = 34 (dec) >>> Run Reverse
- Set Word 8193 = 1 (dec) >>> Stop
= 8 (dec) >>> VFD Fault Reset
+ Frequency Setting Address = 8193 (dec) + 1 = 8194 (dec)
+ VFD Status Address = 8448 (dec) + 1 = 8449 (dec)
+ Frequency Output Address = 8451 (dec) + 1 = 8452 (dec)
+ Current Output Address = 8452 (dec) + 1 = 8453 (dec)
+ Voltage Output Address = 8454 (dec) + 1 = 8455 (dec)
