Schneider ATV312 Communication Configuration

In order for ATV312 VFD to be able to communicate, we need to set the following parameters:

COM Menu:

  • Add (Address): 1
  • tbr (Baud rate): 9.6
  • tF0 (Com. Type): 8E1
  • tt0 (Timer Error Detection): 3.0

CtL Menu:

  • LAC: L3
  • Fr1: Mdb (Modbus)
  • Fr2: Mdb
  • CHCF: SEP
  • Cd1: Mdb
  • Cd2: Mdb
ATV312 Register Control

For MT8071iE Modbus RTU: HMI Address = “VFD Address + 1”

>>> Control Address = 8501 + 1 = 8502

  • Set 8502(hex) = 6 >>> Enable Operation
  • Set 8502(hex) = 128 >>> Reset Fault
  • Set 8502(hex) = 15 >>> Forward Run
  • Set 8502(hex) = 2063 >>> Reverse Run
  • Set 8502(hex) = 4111 >>> Stop

>>> Frequency Reference Address = 8502 + 1 = 8503

ATV312 Register Monitoring
  • System Ready = 3201 + 1 = 3202 (bit00), Alarm Present (bit07)
  • Output Frequency = 3202 + 1 = 3203
  • Output Current = 3204 + 1 = 3205
