HMI Kinco “Modbus RTU” Omron E5CC Tutorial

Written by plc247.com

Hello friends!
In the previous article, plc247.com guided you to use the Kinco HMI to connect to the inverter through the Modbus RTU communication protocol, today plc247.com will continue to guide you to connect to the temperature Omron E5CC Controller.

Using the HMI to connect to the Omron E5CC temperature controller helps us to control and store the temperature as a logfile easily.

HMI Kinco & Omron E5CC “Connection Diagram”

+ The model used is Kinco MT4414TE (most of Kinco’s HMIs have RS485 “COM.0” port)

Note: Using 120Ω terminal resistor for anti-interference for Modbus RTU . communication

Omron E5CC Controller Modbus Configuration

Below are the communication parameters that need to be set up for Omron E5CC to be able to control using “Modbus RTU” protocol

E5CC Registers Address
Note: HMI Kinco Modbus-RTU Address =
“Controller Address (Dec) + 1

+ Temperature Setting Address = 2103 (hex) + 1
= 8451 (dec) + 1 = 8452

+ Temperature Monitoring Address = 2000 (hex) + 1
= 8192 (dec) + 1 = 8193

Kinco HMI “Modbus RTU” Parameters Setting

We need to configure the communication parameters of the HMi to be the same as those installed for the Omron E5CC controller
