DVP-14SS2 “Modbus RTU” PowerFlex 525 VFD

In previous posts, guided you through the basic installation and use of some PLC/HMI to control the PowerFlex525 Inverter.

Today I would like to continue to write a tutorial for you to use a very cheap but high quality PLC that is the DELTA DVP14SS2 PLC to control the PowerFlex525 inverter via the Modbus-RTU RS485 Communication Standard.

PowerFlex 525 Modbus-RTU Parameters Setting

In addition to the basic parameters of the inverter installed according to the motor (Frequency, Voltage, Current), we need to set the communication parameters as follows:

Register Control Address

>>> Motor Control Address = 2000 (Hex)

+ Set Word 2000 = 18 >>> Forward Run
= 34 >>> Reverse Run
= 1 >>> Stop
= 8 >>> VFD Fault Reset

>>> Motor Frequency Address = 2001 (Hex)

Register Monitoring Address

We need to configure the communication parameters of the PLC to be the same as that of the Inverter
