Hello friends!
In previous posts, plc247.com showed you how to use PLC Inovance to connect and control many different types of inverters, today I will continue to guide you to control the Alen-Bradley PowerFlex525 inverter through “Modbus RTU” protocol.
Both the Inovance H3U-3232MT PLC and the Danfoss FC51 inverter have a built-in RS485 port that can support “Modbus RTU” communication.

PLC Inovance “Modbus RTU” Parameters Setting
To be able to control PowerFlex 525 inverter with Modbus-RTU, in addition to the basic parameters of the inverter (frequency, voltage, current …) we need to install additional communication parameters as follows:
PowerFlex 525 “Modbus-RTU” Registers Address
>>> Motor Control Address = 2000 (Hexa)
- Set Word 2000 = 18 >>> Motor Forward Start
= 34 >>> Motor Reverse Start
= 1 >>> Stop
= 8 >>> VFD Fault Reset
>>> Frequency Setting Address = 2001 (Hexa)
+ Frequency Command Address = 2102 (Hexa)
+ Output Frequency Address = 2103 (Hexa)
+ Output Current Address = 2104 (Hexa)
+ DC-BUS Voltage Address = 2105 (Hexa)
+ Output Voltage Address = 2106 (Hexa)
