Below is a diagram of Modbus-RTU communication connection between HMI GT2505-VTBD and Schneider ATV312 Inverter

Schneider ATV312 “Modbus RTU” Parameters Setting

To be able to control the Schneider ATV312 inverter, we need to install the following parameters for the inverter

  • CON” – Menu

+ Add = 1 (Slave Address = 1)
+ tbr = 9.6 (Baudrate = 9600bps)
+ tF0 = 8E1 (8bit/even/1bit)
+ tt0 = 3.0 (Comm. timer check Error)

  • “CtL” – Menu

+ LAC = L3
+ Fr1 = Mdb (Modbus)
+ Fr2 = Mbd
+ CHCF = SEP
+ Cd1 = Mbd
+ Cd2 = Mbd

Registers Address Mapping
Note: Mitsubishi GOT2000 Holding Registers Address =
“VFD Address (Dec) + 400001

>>> VFD Control Address = 8501 + 400001 = 408502 (dec)

  • Set Word 408502 = 128 : VFD Fault Reset
    = 6 : VFD System Start
    = 15 : Forward Run
    = 2063 : Reverse Run
    = 4111 : Stop

>>> Frequency Setting Address = 8502 + 400001 = 408503 (dec)

+ Output Frequency Address = 3202 + 400001 = 403203 (dec)
+ Output Current Address = 3204 + 400001 = 403205 (dec)
+ Output Torque Address = 3205 + 400001 = 403206 (dec)

We need to set the Modbus communication parameters for the HMI to be the same as those set for the VFD
