Delta HMI “Modbus RTU” Siemens Sinamics V20 Tutorial

Hello friends!
In previous articles, plc247.com guided you to use HMI DOP-107EV to control many different devices through Modbus-RTU, today I will continue to guide you to use it to control Siemens Sinamics V20 Inverter.

Both Siemens Sinamics V20 Inverter and HMI Delta DOP-107EV have a built-in RS485 port that supports Modbus-RTU Communication

Note: Use a 120Ω Terminal Resistor if the communication distance is long

Siemens V20 Modbus Parameters Setting

To be able to control Siemens Sinamics V20 with Modbus-RTU, we need to set the following communication parameters, plc247.com recommends setting as the table below:

Sinamics V20 Modbus Parameters Address
  • Motor Control Address = 63 (hexa)
    + Set Word 63 = 1151 >>> Forward Run
    = 3199 >>> Reverse Run
    = 1150 >>> Stop
    = 1278 >>> VFD Reset
  • Frequency Setting Address = 64 (hexa)
    + Speed Reference = 0 to 16384(dec) ~ (0 to 100%)
  • Data Monitoring Address = 6D (hexa)

We need to set communication parameters of Delta DOP-107EV the same as Siemens Sinamics V20 Inverter
